It’s Official

To all my family and friends:

Today November 5, 2008, being a black man in America has a different feeling, it feels GREAT!!!! Last night reaffirmed what I already knew about our people that we are powerful beyond measure, “we are born to make manifest the power of GOD that is in us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine,we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, Our presence automatically liberates others.”

Last night culmination of activities were a vision, that a person not be judged by the color of their skin, but the content of their character, stated by my fraternity brother Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in August of 1963 during his “I have a dream speech”, continued throughout the civil rights movement and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. America made good on her promise of being one Nation under God, indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for all.” I would like to thank all of the role models and unsung heroes of Selma, Montgomery and Birmingham who begin this movement some four decades ago, living here on the soil of these soldiers, I think we sometime take it for granted. Please know today that the Audacity of Hope that I inherited , will never go unrecognized.

Brothers and Sisters, lets take this opportunity to continue educating, empowering and inspiring our community, if President Obama can achieve history against all odds, surely we can continue to make a difference in the lives of those we touch each day.!! The journey has merely just begun. May God Bless Each of You who read this. I will be in Washington D.C. on January 20, 2009 for the Inaugural Weekend of Events and share this history with you in MOCA and on my websites.
